Ljubljana – Pop’s Place

Pop’s place is one of the bars located next to river. At first sight, you can skip this place because name is written in small and covered by umbrellas.

Pop’s place is famous for its burgers and craft beers. We ordered Original California Classic and it was the most delicious burger I have ever eaten. You definitely need to experience it.  It is so juicy. And the price is 7.90 euro.

They have quite large outdoor seating. No need for reservation.

I normally just recommend you but for Pop’s place, I will insist you to go. You will not be regretful.

Ljubljana – Le Petit Cafe

Le petit cafe is a cosy corner cafe in Ljubljana. Although it is close to old town, location is not a tourist spot. It was the only crowded cafe on saturday morning. It is a popular breakfast place among local people.

Their menu is like a newspaper and there is a small intro about the café on the first page which is so cute.

We ordered eggs “Florentine”, cheese toast, chocolate croissant and lemonade. I enjoyed the eggs “Florentine”. There were spinach, béchamel and Emmental cheese in it. There are so many options for breakfast and portions are big.

Croissant was still hot when we ordered. Just baked and so delicious.

My only dissatisfaction was about the lemonade. It was totally different what I drank in my life before. It was just water and lemon. Sugar was beside it. You need more than one sugar to make it drinkable.

You can have orange juice or coffee instead of lemonade.

Total prices was 13 euros for 2 people.

You can find more information about Le Petit Cafe here.

Ljubljana – Vigo

Vigo is in the old town of Ljubljana. If you are there on Saturday, there is wine tasting in the old town so you can skip Vigo because it is behind the stalls.

There are 20 different ice cream and they are all Vigo’s specialities. Ice creams are so light and tasty.

You can get cooler in Vigo with a scoop of ice cream.

Ljublijana – Sorbara Steak House

Sorbara Steak house is just beside the river and far from the noise of the touristic part.  They have tables outside to enjoy the weather. We found a table without reservation. But you can make reservation to be on the safe side.

There is a steak guide on their menu. It helps you to decide what to eat and how to eat.

They brought homemade butter for starter. I normally can’t eat butter because of its smell but this one was very light and I really liked it.

We ordered Australian rib eye 250gr and tenderloin 250gr. Roasted patato and mixed grill as side dishes. And red house wine for drinks.

On their steak guide, “well done” is not recommended because the steak is wasting the quality. That’s why I had the “medium well” (still not recommended but was the best I could do). I couldn’t eat the “medium well” it was bloody for me and asked them to make it “well done”. Although the meat is “well done”, it was so juicy and tasty.

Chefs really know how to cook meat. And the waiters were so kind. You can listen to waiters suggestions for your wine orders.

We paid 56 euros for two steaks, three glasses of red wine and two side dishes.

If you are a meat lover, try Sorbara Steak House.
